Russian Solitaire is a challenging variant of Yukon where you must build tableau columns in same-suit descending order instead of alternating colors. This stricter rule dramatically increases difficulty compared to standard Yukon. All 52 cards are dealt face-up, maintaining the open-information nature of Yukon, but the same-suit requirement means fewer valid moves at every turn.

What’s Different from Yukon Solitaire

Yukon with same-suit tableau building (instead of alternating colors). Win rate drops from ~80% to ~20-30%.

Russian Solitaire Tips

Since you can only build in same suit, plan your foundation building order carefully. Focus on one suit at a time and try to consolidate cards of each suit into fewer columns. Empty columns are extremely valuable — use them to temporarily store cards while reorganizing suited sequences.
